So the second part of the Butterfly pull is the catch, this is where you bend the elbow, similar to the Freestyle high elbow pull, you’re going to get the forearm engaged against the water to be able to push yourself forward in the pull. One of the main common errors we see in a catch, as I said with that elementary-age is sweeping out for pulling back. So, this guy here, you can see he’s kind of like pulling himself up, that’s also another common error, normally its done with a little bit more of a straight arm because you’re pushing down essentially at the very beginning of a pull, before you go backwards, which lifts the body on its own.
