So fun fact, some of the world’s greatest swimmers can sit with their legs straight out just like this lady’s doing and plantar flex their toes so much that their big toes hit the ground. I can’t do that. But I do know people that can, and it’s pretty crazy when you see someone who has that ankle flexibility. A lot of that is just genetically, they have really flexible ankles. I don’t think I’ve ever known a swimmer who is also a ballerina, but people who do ballet and they go on point, really really really have to have flexible ankles, and so they’re they’re taught at a young age how to stretch those tendons, which I’m not necessarily an advocate for stretching, because your tendons are supposed to be tight for a reason. But normally it’s just genetics that people have very loose ankles.
