Video Example: Flat Backstroke

So we’re looking at the gold cap, kiddo, in the middle. We’re looking at this guy, I’m pretty sure it’s this one, the one closest to the screen. And so you can see here how he’s flat and he’s a little bit bouncy, so the bounce comes from the fact that he kicks when the hands are not connected correctly, and so it causes the swimmer to jerk up and down as they go down the pool. You can shift that by fixing the connection with the right hand up and left leg kicking up and when left hand and right leg kicking up to avoid the jerky Backstroke. He doesn’t rotate at all. He’s your total flat Backstroker, and you need to make sure that you have the rotation happening instead of the body bouncing up and down.
